43:57 When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it
# وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلاً إِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصِدُّونَ 57
43:58 and say, 'What are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation.
# وَقَالُوا أَآلِهَتُنَا خَيْرٌ أَمْ هُوَ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَكَ إِلاَّ جَدَلاً بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَ 58
43:59 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel.
# إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ مَثَلاً لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ 59
43:60 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth.
# وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلائِكَةً فِي الأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ 60
